CURRICULUM

Our Adult Horsemanship Workshops are limited to 4 students maximum per workshop. The exact curriculum for these three-hour workshops may change depending on the needs of the group, but an example  workshop timeline is outlined below:

0-10 minutes: welcome, introductions, barn rules

10-70 minutes: in the pasture – catching, haltering, herd dynamics

70-100 minutes: grooming and tacking up – discuss proper fitting saddles and bridles

100-160 minutes: groundwork exercises, understanding horse anatomy and movement, intro to lunging

160-180 minutes: untacking and releasing horses back to pasture

Adult Workshop Dates:

  • Sunday, January 21st from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Sunday, February 11th from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Sunday, February 25th from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

  • Sunday, March 3rd from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Please Note: (1) This is a non-riding class (2) Adult Horsemanship Workshops may need to be rescheduled if there is inclement weather.

Horsemanship Workshops for Adults

Have you always wanted to get involved with horses, but didn't know where to start? Or are you a current Spark student who wants to build your confidence and improve your horsemanship skills? Our Horsemanship Clinics for Adults workshops are perfect for beginning and returning riders, as well as those who have always wanted to learn more about horses. These small group workshops can be tailored to the horsemanship skills you want to work on, including the following: catching and haltering a horse in the pasture, understanding herd dynamics and body language, safety practices while in the pasture and barn, saddle and bridle fitting, horse anatomy, grooming, leading, a variety of groundwork exercises and introduction to lunging.
